Growing up I've always wanted to learn Japanese and so when I found out about exchange programs, I got excited. Although even though now it may be a little bit too late, I am now trying to learn as much Japanese until next year, so I can go to a Japanese school for year 12. I only know a few words and have no clue on how to keep a conversation going. Any kind of help would be amazing. I am willing to study for long periods of time, but it may be a little hard since I'm always tired but I am quite desperate to learn. It would be nice to have a teacher that isn't too strict but sort of firm enough to have high expectations of me, even if its to give me homework then I'm definitely willing to do it! Calling people does make me a bit nervous because I have social anxiety and just calling people worry me but I'm trying to gain my confidence and trying to get out of my comfort zone.

I wish to learn conversationa l Afrikaans. I was born in Cape Town but moved to Australia at a young age and never had the opportunity to learn.
I am a beginner.
I can understand a lot but cannot speak, this is from listening to my parents speak it to each other. They did not want to teach me as they wanted me to focus on learning English.
