I am a beginner in the Hindi language. I know some words but i would like to further my knowledge and my skills and be able to one day converse with my friends in Hindi. Futher more i would from there like to learn Punjabi aswell. I am wanting to learn this language because my boyfriend is Indian as are 95% of my friends, so i am in the Indian culture constantly and i would also like to travel to India. I need to be taught from the beginning and i am willing to dedicate as much time as possible to achieve my goal of learning and being able to speak Hindi.
I would like a teacher who is quite fluent in Hindi and Punjabi and who is friendly, approachable and easy going and willing to teach.

I am staying in Baroda for an internship until December 2008. I do not at all know any local language: neither Hindi, nor Gujarati.
In business life I get along very well with English, but on the street with 3-wheeler drivers, in the restaurant etc. I sometimes have problems. As I am interested in the Indian culture, I would also like to learn some language basics.
I would like to invest 2 to 5 hours a week in lessons. If possible I would be happy to learn in a class, together withh other students

I have been trying to learn Hindi for quite some time. I have purchased audio books, textbooks, Rosetta Stone, etc. and I feel I need more guidance. My boyfriend is from India and speaks Hindi fluently. However, I feel it is best to learn from someone who is not close to you. His parents do not speak much English nor do his relatives. We are most likely going to be married in central India next summer. From what I have heard, there are not many English speakers in the area where we will be. I would love to improve conversationa l abilities. Right now my schedule changes often. I teach chemistry normally and right now my boyfriend's parents are in town. I would love to meet once a week if possible. I am looking for an extremely patient teacher who is willing to work with someone who is extremely shy with languages.
