1- My mothers fascination with Russian history led to my interest in Russian. I began taking Russian at my old school. I excelled quickly and immediately fell in love with the language. My new school, North Atlanta High School, does not offer Russian, which is why I am pursuing instruction outside of school. On a side note, my girlfriend, Dasha, is Russian, being able to communicate in both languages is important. (My mother is a Georgia Tech alumni. She is the one who selected you due to your Tech experience)
2- I have been taking Russian for the past two years, 9th and 10th grade at Summerlin Academy in Bartow, FL. I was selected this summer into the Federal Service Language Acadamies 3 week Russian course at North Georgia College and State University. I feel very confident in my proficiency, until I try to have a fluid conversation with a person whose native language is Russian. I have a lot to learn to be naturally proficient.
3-I would like to advance in all areas. Currently I am most interested in improving my conversationa l Russian, however, I have been thinking of pursuing a career where I could use Russian, so I would like to be well rounded.
4-R ussian is the only class I have ever done extra work just because I enjoyed it. I am willing to dedicate as much time as I can without interfering with my other classes. I can take two classes a week.
5-I am looking for lessons that teach Russian that I will be able to use in my everyday life so that I will be encouraged to practice. I want to perfect my pronunciation . I want to respectfully and politely be able to converse with native speakers with ease, not just my girlfriend. I want to be able to communicate effectively with her parents, friends of mine both native and second language, future business associates and so on. Ultimately, I dream of traveling to Russia and being able to communicate naturally enough to blend in and pass for a Russian myself!

I would like to learn Russian because I think it is a beautiful language and the history and culture behind is extremely interesting to me. Also I have been in a commited relationship with a Russian man for a few years now and I want to get closer to his culture by learning the language.
I am a beginner and very eager to start learning. I would like to have 1 or 2 hour classes twice a week if possible.

Why learn Russian? We adopted my daughter at age 7 and she is now 15. I want her to take Russian because that is her native language and she wants to learn it.
Profic iency? beginner. When we brought our daughter home she would not speak any Russian and would only speak in English.
