Hello
I am intrested in learning to speak Hindi. I can speak it some what but would like to because much more fluent. I am leaning this as alot of my friends and family members speak the launguage.
I would prefer one to one lessons but would consider group learning.

I know a lot of words in Hindi as I have been trying to learn it myself using CD's. I understand the vague meaning of sentences if I hear some familar words. I listen to a lot of songs and movies to help my vocabulary.I would like to be able to form sentences and hold proper conversations . I would also like to learn grammar.
My purpose for learning is both social and to enhance my career opportunities .
I can dedicate a couple of hours a week or more depending on the travel time to the tutor.
I want someone who is a teacher rather than just a speaker. I know many people who speak Hindi and they all offer to teach me but as they don't have educational skills are unable to structure proper learner.

I am interested in learning Hindi because it is a beautiful language. I have tried learning Hindi previously through books and CD's so I have some understanding of the grammar and vocabulary. I would consider myself somewhere in between the categories beginner and intermediate. I understand simple present tense grammar, but have not learned to use the past or future tenses. My vocabulary is limited.
I would like to have a one hour lesson twice a month. The day would most likely change from month to month since I would need to work around my on-call schedule. Also it could not be from 7am-5:30pm because I work from 8-5. The lessons would need to located inside the loop. I would prefer to meet somewhere public such as a coffee shop. I will most likely not be able to study homework outside of the lessons so the lesson would be both for me to learn and practice speaking.
I am looking for a teacher that speaks Hindi as his/her native language, but also has a good command of English.

I am of Indian origin but have lived almost all my life abroad, mostly in the UK. I am now travelling quite extensively back and forth to India in relation to my work and feel that a reasonable grasp of day to day conversationa l Hindi would be very helpful. I am particularly interested in being able to interact effectively with 'ordinary' people such as tradesmen, shopkeepers, taxi drivers, and other service providers.
I live and work in central London.
