I started learning some Farsi on Rosetta Stone almost one year ago but it doesn't start with the basics. I would like to learn basic conversationa l skills and the alphabet, eventually working up to fluency. This is for career development and personal interest. With my work schedule, weekends are best and I could devote a few hours each weekend for in-person lessons and some time during the week for practice. I am on a budget, however, so the lessons may have to start with minimal face-to-face time. I'm looking for a teacher who is patient but challenging and speaks the language fluently (preferably native speaker) who can also teach me colloquial phrases and a bit of the culture, which is inherently tied to language.
