I am proficient in English (my native language) and Spanish. I am looking to learn Farsi and Arabic, but would give preference to my study of Farsi, which I have already begun. I need to learn this languages in order to enroll in a graduate program in the history of the Middle East. I have taken two semesters of Persian at La Salle University, which unfortunately cancelled its Farsi classes for the upcoming year. I have studied five verb tenses but need to practice using them, as well as conversation and increased vocabulary.
I would like to dedicate 3-5 per week to my study.
I would like to find a teacher in the Philadelphia area who focuses primarily on conversation but also spends some time working with the written language.

I was in Shanghai for 5 months, studying economics. I took a beginner's Chinese class and did well, however I want to continue learning only how to speak Chinese. I want to learn in order to serve as a translator for my father and his business in China. I need help in grammar, conversation and vocabulary. I think a solid hour with a tutor, 3 times a week would help me out a lot. I just want my tutor to be patient with me and to teach me a significant amount. I am a college student living off of financial aid, and I do not have a lot of money. However, I am hoping that the tutor will be willing to negotiate a cash price so I can afford to learn.
