I am a native English speaker (American), curently working on a doctoral degree, and am interested in learning to read and speak Dutch for academic purposes. I am interested in learning the basics of grammar, pronunciation , etc., with a primary need learning to read and translate (with dictionary help) scholarly articles in my research, so a familiarity with academic research would be helpful, but not essential. I have stusied German for many years and am relatively fluent in it.

This is for my son. He is 15 and is in the second year of high school spanish. He is learning disabled and also in a school for the gifted. So while he speaks Spanish fairly well he is having a lot of difficulty with written work. We want to hire someone to come to our home on the upper west side once or twice a week.
