I am a Stanford graduate interested in Aramaic as the native tongue of Jesus. I want to learn more about this language, particularly pronunciation as it will greatly inform a new creative project of mine. I have memorized a syriac version of the lord's prayer and some of the beattitudes in aramaic, but I have no real understanding of the grammar, alphabet, etc.
I would give 2 hours a day to this study while in Turkey for three months.
I would like a teacher who has excellent linguistic skills; patience and a sense of humor also go a long way... so that learning can be fun. I would like a teacher with some knowledge base of current aramaic-speak ing christians in Turkey.
