Greeting,
I am a beginner level student, wishing to learn Spanish.
I have some basic voacbulary and sentences but in much need to combine all this together and move to the next level.
I am on parental leave, so I would appriciate having a tutor that is able to displace to my residence. I would be willing to compensate for the extra movement.
Why I want to learn spanish? much of my family in-law speak Spanish and of course to be able to communicate with them and others when I travel. I would like to devote atleast 2-3 hours per week with a tutor. Looking for a patient tutor with proper skills to help someone break through the language barrier to the next levels.

My boyfriend and I will be traveling to Chile in September 2010. We will be visiting many rural locations, and would like to have gained enough communication skills to succeed independently . We are the same level, and expect to pass through the introductory level quickly as we have studied intro Spanish in the past and are bilingual in French (and English). We would like to focus on conversation/ speaking comprehension , with grammar/writi ng being secondary. We would be able to host the classes at our home, or would be able to attend at locations in Hull or Aylmer, or locations near to there in Ottawa. We are looking at lessons twice a week.

I am learning Spanish for pleasure. I have taken Level III Spanish at University of Calgary and am just completing Conversation Level I. I would like to improve my conversation and also grammar. I would want to spend approximately 2hrs per week in lessons. I want to continue on with Level IV Spanish at the University but would like to feel more confident with what I have learned so far.

I am (almost) 60 years of age and would like to learn to speak Spanish. Why? Numerous reasons. I am a scuba diver and I spend several weeks every year in the Caribbean, much of which is Spanish-speak ing; it would be useful to be able to communicate with the people who take me diving, wait on me, and so on. I like the spanish language - it is beautiful and has produced an enormous volume of incredible literature (only some of which I can read at my stage). I have given some thought to retiring in a spanish-speak ing part of the world (Spain, Costa Rica, Mexico...). Finally, I don't want my brain to go to mush and I believe that studying a language helps to prevent same.
I have studied Spanish by books for several years; my grammar is quite good, I can read and write the language, but I have trouble understanding the spoken language. My proficiency? Probably intermediate.
I need to be able to understand the spoken word - I can speak, read and write.
Qua lities in a teacher? I am an intelligent man; I hope to have an intelligent teacher who can understand and deal with my needs.
