I am just beginning to learn Vietnamese. I want to learn Vietnamese because I have a son whose half Vietnamese and I feel that it would be good for him to learn the language and culture of his grandmother. I really need alot of help with pronunciation , basic words, etc. I want to dedicate as much time as possible to become proficient in basic Vietnamese, so that maybe I can move on to more intermediate levels. I am a beginner in Korean. My father lives in Korea and has lived there for 20 years. His current wife and adopted daughter are Korean. I would like to be able to speak Korean with them and with everyone the next time I visit him in Korea. I need lessons in all areas. I am currently learning from a book and CDs but I do not think it's helping much with my speech or comprehension . Also, it is difficult to get feedback from a book. I would say conversation is most important to me but I think that other things underlie the ability to speak, such as grammar and vocabulary. However, I would also like to be able to read and write in Hangul. I would like to take maybe 2 lessons a week and do a lot of work on my own. I am very bad at learning to pronunciate things correctly in other languages and I would appreciate someone who is somewhat patient.

Hi,
I am a first-generat ion Portuguese American. Both of my parents were born in the Azores. I have alot of family in Fall River, MA which has a huge Portuguese population. So all my cousins that live there are pretty fluent in the language. I, however, grew up in New Hampshire and my parents really didn't teach me the language. Sad to say, I don't know the language as much as I should. So, I am really looking to learn as much as I can. I'd say I'm a beginner, but I do understand some Portuguese. It's important for me to learn Continental Portuguese NOT Brazilian Portuguese. If you're able to help me, I'm looking forward to talking to you. I'd also like to know how much you charge for lessons. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
