Hi,
We are searching for Mandarin teachers with good English skills to teach beginning Mandarin to middle and high school American students via Internet. We will supply the live web conferencing platform, the teacher must have high speed Internet acccess.
Teachers will have 9 students per class and the classes will meet for 45 minutes 3 times a week. We want a combination of conversation and written Mandarin and we think using pinyin will facilitate students learning the language. Teachers will also be responsible for assigning at least 1 lesson for the students to work on in groups of 3 when they are not in the live learning enviornment.
We plan to begin instruction at the end of August, 2009 and continue through December, 2009. We prefer someone in China so students can learn the language through the daily life of someone in China as well as learn about Chinese culture. A teacher who makes learning fun and interesting is desirable.
We offer competitive compensation based upon experience and teaching plans, though teaching plans will count more than experience.

I want to learn Japanese so in the future I could study law abroad in Japan. I have been interested in the Japanese culture since I was 7, I have been looking all over the internet for proper tutors but it seems that in Chicago the Japanese language isn't very popular. Please help me if you can.

I am interested in learning Filipino/Taga log, as I hope to travel and possibly work there some day. I am a foreign language teacher, so I am avidly interested in learning new languages. With Filipino/Taga log, I would be a total beginner, so really ALL areas are ones I need improvement in! I am looking for someone who can support my language needs via textbooks and/or other supplementary materials, and can give me a clear, coherent step-by-step process to build the beginning fundamentals of the language into more complex structures. I need someone who is organized and thorough, and who can explain issues and questions regarding grammar. I hope to have an hour lesson each time I meet with my instructor, be it once or twice a week. As a foreign language teacher, I know that practice is imperative to learning a new language, so the more chance I have to use it, the better.
