To Whom It May Concern:
I am trying to find an individual to begin teaching me the Turkish language. My proficiency level is beginner and the reason I want to begin learning Turkish is because my brother-in-la w is Turkish-Ameri can. I will be traveling to Turkey with his family within the next couple of years and I want to be able to communicate with his family on some level.
I am currently a full-time student at Texas State University-Sa n Marcos. However, I would like to dedicate at least one hour a week to a tutor. . . maybe 2 hours.
I'm looking for a tutor who is patient and is willing to begin teaching Turkish at a beginning level. I am a quick, fast-paced learner.
I live in Austin- so I'm looking to receive lessons anywhere in the Austin, Texas area.

I am of intermediate proficiency, but would like to obtain advanced/near fluent proficiency. I would like to advance my training because I am a Filipino, and would like to someday conduct business in the Philippines. Additionally, I believe that one's language is part of one's identity and I believe that learning Tagalog more wholly would allow myself to appreciate my complex cultural identity. I need particular improvement in comprehension (I was not spoken to in Tagalog as a child), conversation, and advanced grammar structures. I will be doing internship next summer (2006) from July until August, and would like to have Tagalog tutoring on the side at that time. I would prefer to have 5 hours a week for approximately 8-10 weeks, depending on pricing. My goal is to become near fluent by the end of the summer; if a teacher can promise me that, then that is the teacher best suited for me.

I took Spanish courses all through out college, but have not practiced for years....I've always wanted to learn a second language, and I believe that taking private lessons will be much more efficient than taking classes through school. My goal is to be able to speak Spanish fluently. Although I'd like to devote a lot of time to this, given my work schedule, I will probably only be able to commit to one day/night a week, for 2-3 hours a session. I am also interested in learning Castillian Spanish and Italian.
