Hi,
I am very interested in studying Japanese. I would like to focus primarily on conversation skills before tackling reading and writing (although review and work on hirigana and katakana would be great).
I taught English in Japan (Kansai area) for 11 months and have recently returned to Canada. I thought the language was very fun and interesting and enjoyed the lessons I had with my language exchange partner there. However, I can feel my limited Japanese starting to slip away!
I am definatley at the beginner level still (despite living in Japan, I was not an avid student there) and am looking to increase my ability to communicate. I.E. I need improvement everywhere.
I am able to spend 2 to 3 hours a week on Japanese lessons and studying.

I really want to learn Brazilian Portuguese because I will do an internship in brazil starting in may 2007. I am speaking french and spanish. I'm really motivated to learn Portuguese and I'm interrested on grammar but my main goal is conversation to be able to understand pople and to be understood :). I am a extreme beginner, I know no Gaelic what so ever. I want to learn because it is the native tongue of my country, Scotland.
I was as a long haul truck driver so time is not my greatest friend.
I am not looking to become a fluent linguist in Gaelic but would like to have an understanding , and perhaps be able to complete the odd toast here and there.
