I am an US born Jordanian and would like to learn the language of my father. I had a tutor three years ago and I learned a great deal but it was only for the summer and when school started my tutor stop giving lessons. I am 11 years old and want to learn to speak, read and write Arabic. I have a very small grasp on the language so I think starting from the begining would be best for me. In regards to the time I want to dedicate to my lessons, I feel what ever the teacher thinks is appropriate would be best for me. The qualities I am looking for in a teacher is someone who is willing to help a child of my age and has the capacity to deal with children of my age also.
