I have been studying Thai on my own, but I am not doing very well. I have used the Pimsleur CDs and am trying to read Thai by studying 'Manee and Friends' on the internet.
I will be staying in Thailand for several months starting in fall, 2006. I would like to be able to read signs and labels, and possibly menus. I would like to speak Thai well enough to be polite, ask directions, and understand the answers.
I will be spending at least eight hours per week learning Thai, possibly more. The biggest challenge at the moment is that I am learning totally alone, with no interaction.
I would like a teacher who is a native speaker, patient, and able to explain my mistakes and how to correct them. I'm willing to study in any manner, but would prefer live tutoring to telephone tutoring.

I am a complete novice to any form of the Chinese language. I wish to learn Chinese because I believe that it will help me excel in the business world.
