I am planning to relocate to Malawi to accept a position with a Medical Mission. I have been to Malawi in 2005 and will be returning for three weeks in June, 2006. I am considering language courses and training in advance of our permanent relocation.

I know absolutely nothing about the language of chichewa as of yet. I'm learning it because I am going to Malawi to help in a medical clinic and would love to know atleast some of the language before I go. I'll want to work mostly on conversationa l stuff. I would like to dedicate the amount of time necessary to learn the language somewhat proficiently in the amount of time I have (which is uncertain at this point). I don't have expectations of my teacher or lessons other than he/she will know what they are doing and can help me in the most efficient way possible.
