It's really embarassing how little I know. I bought the colloquial amharic book and tapes a while back, but I need a little more structure and encouragement than this provided. I am seeking a language tutor to help me improve my Amharic, primarily because I sometimes travel to Ethiopia for work. My current ability level is that of an advanced beginner. I am able to read newspaper articles with the aid of a dictionary, and can carry on basic conversation. Grammar and speaking ability are the areas in which I need the most help. I am looking for an instructor who is patient and interested in my progress in the language, and would like to meet weekly or perhaps twice monthly.
