I am a sophomore at a private college in Wisconsn planning to travel abroad in Istanbul next year. Although I took a few private lessons with a Turkish exchange student at the beginning of last semester, I am looking to expand my knowledge and retention of Turkish grammar and vocabulary and gain some competency to help me in my travels and allow me to become more intimately involved with the culture.
I am currently applying for a scholarship with Global Partners to help me cover the costs of Turkish study, whether it be through a private instructor or a college class. Though I am from Michigan, I plan on living and working in Portland with my roommate over the summer and anticipate dedicating a few hours with a private instructor (more with a class) each week to Turkish.
Any information about language programs in the Portland area would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for a teacher to help me learn Turkish. I am married to a Turkish citizen and need to be able to communicate effectively in a Turkish community.
I am very much still at the beginner stages and find learning online or from books very difficult at this early stage.
I would be grateful if someone could offer me some support with my learning. I work full-time but would be happy to undertake approximately 2 hours of lessons each week - with additional independent study.
