Hello,
My name is Christopher and I have been independently studying Spanish for several years. My wife is from Mexico, but we are not good at teaching each other as we have developed a strong “spanglish” dialect. I am in need of a more formal approach to break the ceiling that has developed. My lack of Spanish skills is a detriment to my communication with my wife and now also with our three young daughters. I am a mariner, so the schedule will need to be flexible. I am looking for private lessons, and I prefer to use WhatsApp as it takes a lot less bandwidth for video chatting.
I have used Pimsleur, Learning Spanish Like Crazy, Rosetta Stone, read some books, and watch shows to aid in my Spanish assimilation. My favorite show to utilize is Juan Manuel de la Prada’s “Lagrimas en la lluvia” debate and talkshow, but I also have watched a number of Netflix Spanish series, mostly ones from Spain and Columbia, as they seem to be the best made shows. Also ones from Argentina, but that is usually depressing. Well done but depressing.
Also, I have garnered an intense amount of primary source documents on Isabel la Católica and wish to write a book about her. She is one of my historic heroes, and I even named my youngest daughter after her. So, there is a bit about me.

I am wanting to learn Spanish spoken in Costa Rica as I plan to relocate.
I had learned Spanish in school here in Dallas years ago, I am not sure of current skill level though my reading abilities are greater than speaking.
Several hours a week is no problem, this is something I would like to put a lot of effort in, to be able to communicate with friends, people at the market and around town, and eventually for business as well.
Look ing for a teacher who can help me relearn the basics and communicate in a friendly manner as well as in a business professional setting.

This is for my Daughter Adriana is 7 years old, I will be on assisting her. Our family owns a second home in Dominican Republic (our family is from there) and I need help teaching her Spanish.
