I am a beginner. I have an Arab husband. I want to homeschool my children and want to speak fluent Arabic to my family ASAP, so I guess maybe 2 years intense Arabic learning. If sooner, the better, but as long as it takes.

I know about 20 words in arabic and consider myself to be a fast learner. I'd buy a book but I am very eager to start conversations and such, and am willing to invest in a private tutor. I am learning arabic partly because I'd like to visit Lebanon and Palestine, but there are other reasons which have to do with intercultural understanding that take more time to explain. I would have no problem at all setting aside 5-8 hours a week, more if necessary, to learn. Insofar as a teacher is concerned, it would be nice if I could be taught the lebanese way of speaking the language.
