I have been studying French for years and try to frequent France or French departments in the Caribbean. My wife and mother in law speak French and I want to get better. I plan on doing a French immersion in a few years when I retire.

I am learning French for career advancement and I never was introduced to a European language besides Spanish. My proficiency level is beginner to intermediate. I feel I need improvement in grammar, conversation, pronunciation , and writing. I would like to dedicate about an hour a day to language lessons. The qualities I am looking for in my teacher are patience, and effective communication . I have been learning French since the age of 10 and I used it for my profession as an External Relations Officer and Researcher for different international organizations . I think my level is from intermediate to advanced.
As I am preparing for a competition addressed to translators at the European Parliament, I need to practice legal translation from English into French.
Therefore, I'd like to dedicate at least 2 hrs per week to my purpose.
I am currently in Boston - USA and I'd prefer a teacher based in Canada, but France or other francophone countries are fine, provided that the time difference is no more than 8 hrs compared to EST time.
