My husband and I are in the process of adopting an 8 yr old girl from Haiti, and I want to be able to converse with her in her native tongue. I am a beginner, and I need to learn as much as possible. I need to learn Haitian Creole because of my job. I'm fluent in French already, which helps, and I'm well into a Pimsleur course on Creole, but I need to talk regularly with someone who can help me 'train my ear' and gain proficiency in speaking. I am very serious about learning the language. I want to be able to eventually converse freely in Creole.
I want as much time as possible each week -- perhaps an hour several times a week -- to converse and to learn grammar and vocabulary. I'm looking for someone who knows the language well and can communicate the language correctly.

Hi my name is Gary Gonzalez and I want to learn how to speak Haitian creole mainly because I plan on going to the island of Haiti and want to at least have some kind of knowledge of the language culture and history of the Haitian people that reside there. I'm somewhat proficient in creole I grew up in South Florida my whole life and as a result have some general understanding of the language due to all my haitian friends that have embraced me into there culture.I'm really dedicated to learning this and plan to spend as much time as I need to in order to have a well profound knowledge of this great nation, language, and culture which has fascinated me for quite some time. I'm looking for a teacher who is fluent, patient and not so strict in his or her methods of teaching.
