I am interested in learning German because I am planning a trip there fall of 2010. I would like to be proficient enough in the language to get around town and hold basic conversation. I am a beginner now, knowing only a handful of phrases, at best. I would like to dedicate several hours a week for the next year to learning German. I do not speak Hindi yet. I have been to India several times, and will return many many more times, so it is best that I start learning now.
I'm looking for someone I can afford and can adjust with me and the things I need to learn. 'Hand On' for me is better than running through a text book format (though, text book is helpful also).
