I want to learn tagalog because much of my family and my partner speaks the language. Sometimes I feel out of the loop when I cannot understand what they are talking about. I also want to connect with the filipino culture and hopefully return to the Philippines being proficient in Tagalog.
I 'm basically starting from scratch and can only greet and thank people in tagalog. I would like to spend at least 1-2 hours per week on language lessons. I would like a tutor that has a mapped out plan for teaching the language such as lesson plans, weekly goals, etc... I cannot find a tagalog tutor in MD so I will have to settle for online communication with tutors in other states.

Hi, my name is Terri and I am a beginner. The languuage I want to learn is Japanese and Korean. The reason why is because I want to be able to sing in different languages. I need help in all areas, I also want to learn writing. I will dedicate as much time as the teacher want. i know nothing about the arabic language..how ever, i want to major in international relations and have been told that the demand for those fluent in arabic and english has grown tremendously (not suprising but). it is a language that has always fascinated me anyway and now i have a clear reason to learn. i would be willing to spend up to 3 days a week in lessons, but i do play sports so it would have to be at night..and i dont know if i could afford expensive lessons at all. thanks!!

I would start at beginning level. My mother came into the U.S. in the 50's from Japan and had a very difficult time because her English was limited. During the 50's in was, to her, very important that I be very 'American'. So, japanese was not spoken to me, just English. I would like to learn the language enough to make my Mother happy and go to Japan.
I work full time 9 - 5 Monday - Friday. Looking for a teacher who can teach after work. Weekends are difficult.
