Hello Madame or Sir,
I hope this email finds you well.
My name is Anna and I am interested in learning (Middle Eastern) colloquial Arabic - written and spoken, including grammer, but with a lot of emphasis on speaking. Generally, I would like to learn Arabic because I enjoy learning languages (I learned Italian fluently as an adult), have always enjoyed the beautiful sound of the Arabic language, would love to someday travel in the Middle East, and have very good, close friends that are from the Middle East-Syria and Lebanon specifically. In Arabic, I am an absolute beginner.
I am a professional, educated woman who works hard in a health sciences job, but would be a good student too. This summer, I would like to do rather intensive Arabic study, perhaps up to 3-4 hours per week of tutoring plus my time spent studying independently , as I have some time off. I have Skype and would prefer to learn using Skype. I will not waste your time. I am honest and likeable and would like a teacher who is also kind, patient and could offer lessons in the morning (my time).

I am studying Farsi (beginner level) in order to learn the vocal Radif, study the classical Persian poets, and travel in Iran. I seek to develop perfect conversationa l and formal fluency and a thorough knowledge of literary conventions. I would like to meet one-on-one with an instructor thoroughly grounded in classical literary Persian 1-3 times a week. I am of Syrian descent but speak very little Arabic. I studied 101-104 in college and can read and write. I just spent the summer in Syria and am most interested in being able to speak and understand the Syiran/ Lebanese dialect fluently.
I am very busy and would be fine with learning via video sessions because I can't find a teacher in my area!

I am interesting in learning Arabic because my husbands family (Americans) is currently living in Beirut, Lebanon. I am considering continuing my education at the American University of Beirut and would like to have at least a base knowledge of the language. I am currently a beginner - I have spent some time in Lebanon and Iraq, but have not learned much/don't have much confidence in speaking what I know. I will need special attention to my conversation skills and pronunciation . I am available to dedicate as much time as necessary this summer to increase my knowledge of the language, but will be heading to the Middle East in September of this year. I would like a teacher who is comfortable with the language and has had experience using it 'in country.'
