I want to learn french to get additional points with my application to canada. I have had previous Dutch lessons - Beginner I and II - at a language school in Los Angeles, California, sometime in 2001. Since then my textbooks & notes have gathered dust. My husband is Dutch & we have been married for over 5 years. I wish to take the Naturalizatio n test to become a Dutch citizen but need to acquire Dutch as a second language. I will be taking a 3-month vacation in Manila from March 2005 and that would be a perfect time for me to prepare for the test.

I am a beginner in the korean language. I have been taught very briefly by a korean classmate on the korean alphabet but I really have a long way to go. I want to learn this language because I am fascinated by the fact that it's really an elegant language and the phonetic sound beautiful. I hope I can learn how to speak and write it perhaps at least three times a week. I hope my lessons would be gradual in pacing so that I can also have the opportunity to enjoy advancing through the stages. I also hope my teacher would be patient with me if I cannot follow the lessons perfectly right away.

I would say that I am an amateur learner of the Chinese language.My interest to learn the language was brought about by its importance in my current job. I would like to learn how to write, speak, & read the language proficiently. I expect to master the language in a couple of years.

Konnichiwa!
I have already started learning Japanese thru self-study. I bought myself a CD and A Guide to Conversationa l Japanese book and several other small books with commonly-used phrases. I sometimes try to use what I learn in conversing with my officemates. But I only use the basic expressions. I am a big fan of anime (Japanese-dub bed with English subtitle) so I would be familiarized with how Japanese people speak. I sometimes watch Japanese channels as well.
I would like to go a step higher with my knowledge in the language -- have a strong grasp of their grammar, how they speak and I would like to learn writing in Katakana and Hiragana. I have always wanted to go to Japan and would really wish to know the language and culture more before going there.
I am currently working full-time as a programmer, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. I could only alot an hour after work, on alternating nights.
It would be greatly appreciated if my future teacher's native language is Japanese, but speaks English fluently. It would be also fun if he/she has a passion for teaching, passion for the Japanese culture and language.
