Hi,
I am married to an Indian from Punjab and I have already
star ted to learn by myself with books. My husband is not
having enough time and teaching materials to teach me properly.
I am looking for a part time teacher (online or live) only
few hours per week, giving me homework. I want to focus on
speaking/ listening, but I also wish to improve my writing
and reading.
S peaking/listen ing = beginner (basic conversation)
Reading/Writ ing = intermediate
(knowledge of alphabet & most letters pronunciation together)
Either in QUEBEC CITY until July 2013, or
in near OTTAWA CITY from September 2013.

Hi!
I am looking to learn Punjabi as my boyfriend of about 2 years is Punjabi. He grew up here and stuff and we speak english at home but we watch all kinds of Indian movies and indian TV and we listen to Indian Music and I feel I am losing something in the translation. Also, and most importantly, I cannot really follow a conversation at Desi Jams or when his family ia all together. Although they all speak perfect english, they do not do so when they are together and i really want to be able to at least understand what's going on. I am also supposed to go meet his family in India and his grand mother does not speak English and I really want to be able to speak with her.
I want to have at elast 1 lesson per week and I will practise at home with my boyfriend as well. I want to learn how to converse with a Punjabi person, I do not need to learn how to read or write it.

I have no real knowledge of Punjabi and need to learn it to be able to converse in this language proficiently with my boyfriend's family as they are a Punjabi family. I am also planning on going to India and will need to know the language. I also want to be able to learn about the Sikh religion as I am looking into conversion, and I believe that if I have basic knowledge of a language that is spoken by many Sikhs, this will make it easier for me. I am willing to dedicate as much time as needed to this as it is very important to me, although I do work a Full Time job.
