One of my 2011 New Year Resolutions is to improve my Hungarian.
I am a beginner level, I lived in Hungary for about a year (I lived in Szentendre) but was teaching English so my Hungarian never really improved.
Both my grammar and conversation requires improvement.
I'm considering weekly lessons, but am willing to be guided as to the best structure and format for learning.
I'd like the lessons to help me develop my language in a way that independent learning isn't able to.

I am wishing to learn the Hungarian language because i would like to travel to Hungary. Part of my family background is Hungarian and i would love to visit the country and be fairly fluent and familiar with the language to enhance my overall travel experience. I have purchased Hungarian grammar books befor that contain self taught activities, i have found these helpful. I can recognise words / phrases that i have become familiar with and can prounounce words in the correct Hungarian form. i am by no means fluent in the language but i am very eager to learn and dedicate my time to do so. I would like have lessons once or twice a week depending on teacher availability. I dont participate in activities other than work, therfore i have a good amount of time to dedicate to learning. I would prefer to the participate in face to face tutorials with a teacher in a one on one environment. I am wishing to beome reasonably fluent in Hungarian.

I left Hungary as a young child and have lived in the UK and Australia ever since. I do understand a great deal of Hungarian but can not converse. I am planning to visit my father who has since returned to Hungary next year and wish to be able to freely converse in Hungarian.

My father is Hungarian and I have always identified with Hungarian as part of my culture, however I do not speak the language, bar a few words and phrases I remember from my childhood and I want to learn for personal reasons. I am at a beginners level, and after attempting to teach myself from a text book I realise that I definitely need a teacher. I would like to learn grammar and conversationa l language. I would be happy to attend around 3 or 4 hours of classes per week, but am open to negotiation.
