I want to learn Spanish so that I can speak with my girlfriend's family. They are Colombian - some speak English well, others hardly at all. I speak a very little bit of Spanish now, and can sometimes understand the the context of basic conversations . While my initial goal is to converse socially, I'd like to be proficient enough to someday do business (from Ottawa)in Spanish speaking countries.
I'm prepared to spend 5 to 10 hours a week working on the language.
I'd prefer Wendy Elena Ordonez as a teacher. I appreciate her qualification s and I was impressed with her profile. In particular she had positive reviews and spoke frequently of teaching the culture as well as the language. I want private and in-person lessons so my instructor must be Ottawa based.
