I have lived in Abu Dhabi for 3 years. I work in the area of computer and network security. I have been in the security field for 20 years, and have a Masters degree in Mathematics from a American college. Since I am working with UAE citizens, I would like to learn their language.
I am at the beginner proficiency level. I would like to learn to both read and write Arabic. Since I am in a high-level technical career, I will focus on portions of the Arabic language that will improve my skills as a trainer and a writer. Also, I would like to have casual social conversations with my students.
My goal is to spend 1 hour a day on Arabic. I would like to work with a tutor, primarily on speaking and vocalization, 1-2 times a week. The remaining hours would be spent on writing, grammar, etc.
The biggest quality I need from a teacher is patience. I am trying to speak the language, through self-teaching , and I am not doing well. I need a teacher that will help me learn the sounds and speak the language.

Hi, my wife and I have recently moved to Abu Dhabi. We would like to learn basic Arabic conversation, written language and understand more about Arabic/Middle Eastern culture. Home tuition desired as we have a young child. We would like one lesson per week, on a Sunday or Monday evening and after 6 pm. We need someone who can come to our apartment. In terms of teaching, patience and sense of humour required!

I studied Arabic in College for 2 years, and have travelled around the Middle East. I'd say I'm at an intermediate level, and want to practice conversationa l Arabic. I need to improve my spoken vocabulary, and I also need help correcting my grammatical errors. A few hours a week of practicing speaking would be helpful.
