I am an absolute beginner who would like to learn Finnish because my girlfriend is from Finland, and I would like to be able to communicate with her friends and family in their native language, and also, in the event that we move there, I would like for working there to be an option.
Si nce I have a Finnish vocabulary of less than 100 words, and essentially no grammar to speak of, I see every area as an area of improvement.
I am looking for a teacher who can not only speak and write Finnish, but can speak and write it correctly. He/She must also posess an understanding of and so be able to explain Finnish Grammar.
I can reasonably dedicate 2-3 hours per week to lessons of this kind.

I am a beginner when it comes to Japanese. I know a few words and some simple grammer, and I can correctly pronounce words pretty well, but I don't know any kanji or anything.
Th ere isn't really any particular reason I'm trying to learn Japanese, only that I'm very interested in Japan and that I am looking into working with manga and/or anime in Japan, and that I would also like to be a Foreign Exchange Student there.
I need improvements in all areas of Japanese (That was kind of blunt, huh? *laughs*)
Le t's see...I am willing to devote up to two hours a day, each day of the workweek to my language lessons, though preferably I would like 1 1/2 hour lessons each day.
There aren't any specific qualities that I would like in my tutor, except that I would really like it if my tutor had a bit of a sense of humor.

I am looking primarily for someone with which to practice listening and speaking. I read and write at an intermediate level but have a hard time understanding the spoken language. At my age I will never be completely fluent, but I would like to become solidly functional. I spend probably 5 hours per week working on it on my own.
