I spent a bit of summer in Ireland and France last year and became very interested in France and French language. I've learned most of the alphabet, just not all at once. Every time I look at a word, I can identify each character but it's a slow & mentally painful process.
I'm going over long and short vowels recently, and while that's easy I don't remember what counts as long or short. I don't think of these things as I'm speaking English.
I start class in a couple of months and have no syllabus or course work to follow. I'm not doing much before then and I'd like whatever help you could give before then. But I do know I'll be taught a formal Persian that no one actually speaks.
