I am a beginner beginner in Punjabi(as in I cant speak any full sentences and I only know a few common words)My fiance is East Indian but he was born in Canada. I work with his family and since we are getting married i think it is important if i try to learn the language. I need improvment in all areas. This is my main goal for now although eventually I would like to be able to both read and write.
I have many friends and family who speak Punjabi as their mother tongue. By learning this language I would like to become more involved in conversations and feel confident in social settings where Punjabi is spoken.

My parents native language is Urdu but I can only speak it on a beginner's level. I have a great understanding of the language, I am just not able to respond effectively. I hope to improve my grammer, pronounciatio n, and overall ability to communicate in Urdu/Hindi/Pu njabi. This has been something on my list of things to do for years now and I'll be committed to putting in the time and effort to get the results I'm working towards. I just need someone who is patient and understanding and knowledgable about the language and my downfalls. I am excited at the prospect of finally being able to converse in my native tongue and look forward to learning and improving.
