She just spent one month with relatives in a village south of Rome for cultural/lang uage immersion. She has studied Italian for one year, after 5 years of spanish and is currently at an advanced beginner or intermediate level. She is highly motivated.

My husband is Italian and I would like to improve my Italian skills to communicate with him and his family. I would like to improve specifically my understanding of Italian grammer and verbs. I am maybe 'intermediate ' at comprehension and vocabulary, but I have not taken a formal class and have not studied Italian in 2 years or so.

Why I am learning Italian: My parents are from Italy and I am looking to increase my vocabulary, improve my grammar, reading and writing.
M y proficiency level: advance.
A reas I feel I need particular improvement: congiuntivo, periodo ipotetico, uso di 'ne', pronomi e pronomi relativi.
Time I want to dedicate to language lessons: about 1 hour per week for the lesson. Additional time as needed for homework and preparation for the next lesson.
Qu alities I am looking for in my lessons/teach er: someone willing to adjust lessons plans based on my needs, someone with clear explanations, someone who does not slow down their speech too much (just speak normally), someone who does not use exercises (ie fill in the blank exercises) from a book, someone willing to spend all the time needed on a topic (until I get it), someone patient & has a sense of humor, someone willing to let me do a lot of the talking (learner focused lessons) and someone who is a native speaker.
