Hi there, I am interested in fast tracking my learning in biblical Hebrew. My goal is to approximate the first year of university hebrew by the end of 2011(!) I have been attending a beginners course in St Kilda on thursdays for a couple of weeks now, but I would like to speed things up so that I am ready to commence a PHD next year. I would like to learn to speak and read and write in Hebrew. I am a beginner do not know the language at all. My reason to learn Hebrew is over the last couple years I have learnt my family originated from Israel and since then began to find a interest in the jewish life and would like to know the language. I would like a teacher who would be able to teach me from scratch the Jewish language as I really have no idea about this language. I would like to have at least one lesson a week thank you

I wish to learn hebrew due to the fact that i have alot of Jewish friendsa nd i plan to travel to Israel in 12 months time. I am only at beginner level i know how to start a conversation and simple things but that is all. I cannot read or write i know some letters but not many. I wish to speak good hebrew within this 12 months time so i would like to know how much time the teacher thinks i should dedicate to achieve my goal. I am looking for someone who can teach me well and has honesty in if they think i can achieve my goals.
