I am interested in learning Mandarin Chinese. I currently practice Chinese martial arts and feel that an understanding of the language will help me interpret texts and teachings currently only available in Mandarin. I have never studied Mandarin but I have picked up a couple of words by listening to my martial arts coach talk.
I think the best areas for me to focus on to begin with would be correct tone pronounciatio n and basic sentences and grammar.
O ne lesson per week would be suitable for now, possibly more if I can afford it.

I have studied basic Hebrew so am not an absolute beginner but would need to brush up on the basics. I would like to study all aspects of the language from grammar to conversation.
My ambition to learn Hebrew stems from strong linquistic, intellectual and historical interests. I have visited Israel and would like to spend more time there. I believe that, as with visiting any foreign country, some mastery of the language would add enormously to the experience. I enjoyed the basic Hebrew courses I took - they were a satisfying mixture of challenge and fun.
As I am highly motivated to continue I would be prepared to devote as much time to the study of the language as a proficient teacher would deem necessary/adv isable.
