Beginner in French.
I live with 2 French people and have a friends circle that's French. Problem is, I can only speak very BASIC french, certainly not enough to have a conversation.
I speak fluent German and Intermediate Chinese, and would love to have French too.
I'd like to study/talk French for 3-4 hours per week. Then I can easily apply what I learn through the help my my housemates.
I want to learn conversationa l French. I'm not too worried about writing and reading. Pronunciation is important and vocabulary. Grammar rules of course are necessary, but I don't mind making grammar mistakes if people can still talk with me and understand my meaning.
T he teacher needs to be patient with me, but push me forward and try to speak as much French with me as possible, not a lot of English.

I am interested in learning French with a view to using it as my second teaching area in my upcoming Education degree. I have a Graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics, and work as an ESL tutor, as well as a general English and History tutor for high school age students. I do not have a 2nd language as yet, but am highly motivated to learn one, believing that it will develop my understanding of the processes my students must go through, and improving my teaching. I will be devoting 3 hours to private tuition, and 10hours a week to study of the language. I am hoping to fast track (to the extent possible) my language learning. I would like to have a good grounding in the information taught in high school French as a Foreign Language classes within 6 months, and reach an intermeditae or pre-advanced level by the end of 12 months. (Please tell me if this is unrealistic).
