I am a beginning student of Arabic (currently up to Chapter 10 in Al-Kitab, Book 1). My primary interest in the language is cultural and linguistic. I am serious about becoming as proficient as possible and need work in all areas! I would like lessons from two to six hours a week with a challenging teacher.
I am seeking a tutor for private lessons in my home in Northern Virginia. I prefer daytime hours but can also do late afternoon/eve ning and potentially weekends.

I have no background in learning another language. I am interested in learning Arabic because my fiance is Tunisian and we are planning to travel back to Tunisia and Egypt often and I would like a better understaning. Quite simply, I love languages. This is my main reason for learning Arabic, which I began studying a year and a half ago. Although I have studied other languages for over half my life, my pursuits have recently shifted entirely to Arabic. I love to teach, and my goal is ultimately to teach Arabic myself. Unfortunately , certain logistics have resulted in the slowing of my learning. I particularly require more opportunities to converse, in addition to reading and listening activities at and beyond my skill level, which is at the end of the elementary stage. I believe that conversation will solidify my vocabulary, which I require more than anything else. I am looking for a tutor who can provide several hours of personal tutoring a week. Evenings are best.

I am French Canadian and I have always had a great interest in languages. Besides French and English languages, I master Spanish language as a mother tongue, as I lived for many years in Spain. I am also a professional in language field as I am a Spanish translator, technical writer and terminologist .
Catalan
I got to understand it perfectly (oral and written)when I lived in Cataluña and Andorra. However, as I left these regions twelve years ago, I have not had the opportunity to work on this language since then. But the main point is that during my stay in the Catalan regions, I never spoke catalan... and this is something I really want to do someday.
A rabic (Lebanese)
M y husband being Lebanese, I understand some words and expressions in this language. However, I really would like to speak it and understand (oral) it well. Therefore, I am interested in learning the Lebanese oral part of that language. The teacher should teach in Gatineau (Gatineau / Hull areas).
Ma ndarin
I developped a great interest for the Oriental cultures these last years. I really would like to know more and get closer to them. I understand the first and main way to do it is by learning their language. Going to China is a dream for my husband and me, but I never would go without knowing the language. I would like to find a native teacher in Ottawa region (Ottawa, Gatineau, Hull)for my husband and me.
