I lived in Prague for 10 months this year but unfortunately had english speaking jobs both day and night and didn't get much practice. I have also done a year of German classes a year ago and learn it online. So I suppose I am pre-intermedi ate in both languages. I want to learn both so that I can communicate in the languages and live in the countries, for pleasure and for my career. I need improvement in spoken language and grammar in particular for both. I would like to dedicate 1 - 4 hours a week for each language. I would like a teacher who is organised, thoughtful and challenging who can give me a long term plan and goals to achieve. :)

My father has just married a Czech woman and they will be living in the Czech republic. I am planning to visit them late in 2006, and though Marika speaks english, I would like to be able to communicate with her in her own language. I am interested in developing a basic conversationa l ability from a beginners level.
I will leave it to any perspective teacher to advise me on how much time I will need to spend on lessons/pract ice.

Dobry den... and that's about all I know. I am a 23 yr old girl who has Czech heritage, and wants to learn this fascinating language. I hope to move to Ceska Republika one day to experience the same culture that my father did. I know basic words that can help me find my way around, but cannot have conversations . I would like evening lessons once a week on a weeknight, and would prefer to do it in person. I would love a teacher who has a passion for the culture and would like to see some of the children of the people who fled so long ago, return to their family's home country. If you are/know of someone that may be able to help me, please let me know.
