I am planning to visit Thailand in two years' time. I am a beginner: I have already taught myself to decipher written words and to find them in a Thai-English dictionary. I can understand a handful of spoken words. I have been using the Rosetta Stone method, but this does not allow the student to be creative, and provides no clues to understanding the structure of the language. I am prepared to spend several hours a week to learning. I am looking for a native speaker of Thai.

Planning a trip to Thailand for about 5 weeks in November 2008, I have absolutely no knowledge of the language but would like to be able to understand and talk a little bit with the locals. Do not really need to be able to read & write, mostly just conversation. I could dedicate about 1 to 2 hours a week for lessons, maybe more depending on the flexibility of the teacher's schedule & cost of lessons. I work during the week (9-5), so am looking to take lessons during evenings or weekends.

Hey i am a male that is 24 years of age and i am married to a thia person they say if they teach me thai they will only get mad at me every time i try and pronounce the words.. as you cant tell we tried it and well it didnt work .. i work over nights in retail. i am going to try and learn the laungage to be fluent and make sure things go well when we move there. i have already been trying out my thai and when i am in thailand with my wife i do most of my shopping in thia but i am not that great yet. As you can tell Thai is the one that i perfer to learn as much as i can. i have all the time in the world with me working over nights i would love to have classes at least 3-4 days a week or have chat conversation with others that are trying to learn it as well so we can mess up together. i hope to have a teacher that is understanding and careing someone who will help me out as much as i can and understand some classes i may be alittle tired till i get use to the work load with work and classes.. well i hope things work out well and i look forward to hearing from you all
