I currently work at a multinational advertising agency in Jakarta. Fluency in english is a must. I'd like to be able to speak and mostly write in proper english. My background in advertising is creative, and I work as an art director. My plan is to extend my creativity from visual driven creative to a copy driven one. To be able to translate ideas into words and craft it nicely, in a long run.
I'd like to have a tutor who can support my goal. Therefore, it will be very beneficial for me to have teacher who has a journalism or copy writing background.
Tutor who can creatively find a way (topics/discu ssion/challeng e/exercise/etc ...) tailored for each student are very expected. I do believe that this will keep the lesson going well and give optimum result.
I work long hours sometimes up until pass-midnight , so I do really need someone with a flexible time with guarantee of my commitment in respecting the agreed schedule. I will also discuss shall there be any need to reschedule the class so that you have time to arrange your other schedule.
I'd like to have at least one hour lesson a week, hopefully more..as many as I can. But that will definitely depends on the cost and available time. Looking forward to discuss the reasonable package that is best for both sides :)

I live and work both in Singapore and Jakarta for a prominent Indonesian company. I joined them in a senior position in July 2013, and after 10 months it's clear that English alone is not enough for me to lead my large team.
I need to be able to carry out business conversations and presentations in Bahasa Indonesia. I'm a rank beginner right now: I can manage simple questions and sentences on the street, but nothing more.
I can only take lessons on weekdays (Mon-Thu), since I'm back to Singapore every weekend. I work in Northeast Jakarta, and live in the Sudirman area, and can either have the teacher come to my apartment or come to a mutually agreed location. I need flexible dates and hours, since I also travel a lot for my work. I'm happy to pay a flat monthly rate, so the teacher doesn't lose if I'm travelling.
I would like to find a fully bilingual English speaker whose native language is Bahasa Indonesia. Preferably someone who already has good teaching experience or a structured course to rapidly advance me through conversationa l Bahasa to a much more proficient level within 6 months or so. That may seem ambitious, but I will work very hard, practising every day, because it's critical to my job! Building vocabulary and an understanding of nuances in expression and idiom is very important to me, since I will also need to read and write business and technical correspondenc e in Bahasa Indonesia.
A teacher who is also clued in to regional differences in Bahasa accent and word usage would be a bonus, as would someone who knows modern expressions/ slang used by speakers between 20-30 years of age. Still, I will happily speak to any teacher that contacts me, because paper qualification s alone are not enough to predict how well we can work together!
I am also very interested in understanding the culture and history of the language, but that is not a primary goal.
