My proficiency level right now is beginner. I want to learn arabic because I am interested in the middle eastern culture and will be heading off to college in the fall of next year to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern Studies. I've actually bought a teach yourself software for arabic, but I am not understanding the alphabet or the writing forms which I think is the key to advancing within the language. I just got a job and have a set schedule where I will be off Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. I am looking to meetup with my instructor 2 to 3 times a week, but am willing to negotiate with the instructor. I am looking for an instructor that's dedicated, patient, and very knowledgable not only about the language but the culture as well.

i am a complete beginner and can just about read arabic. i am learning arabic because i want to be able to read the Quran in its original text and also the fact that i will be working and living in the UAE, knowing arabic will be a great advantage. I will require lessons on general gramme, conversation and tajweed if possible. i will be staying in ajman indefinately so theres no time limit on my arabic studies. i would like to take 5 x 1 hour lesson per week maybe even more if the lessons are going well. I would require someone who is patient, flexible and organized to be my teacher and someone who speaks english is a hugh advantage.
