I am native English speaker, but I have taken Spanish and French, although, I would consider my proficiency in those languages as very basic.
I am interested in learning German for personal use, as my fiancee is a native German speaker. She is bilingual, however, her family and friends in Germany are not, and I would like to be able to communicate proficiently with them.
She has been working some with me, but at this time, she is currently overseas finishing her studies, so it is hard for me to learn at such a distance.
I am willing to put in no less than 2 hours a week into one on one learning and more in independednt study.
I am a visual learner, and learn faster by doing/experie ncing over reading. I prefer to work with someone who is laid back and of course, friendly.

I have 10 yrs of German study at University level. I haven't been able to use the language in some time, so I'm wanting to improve proficiency. I can carry on a simple conversation with my current level.
I'd like to gain fluency in the next couple of years, because of my german ancestry and for business reasons. I would prefer to take 1 1/2 hours per week, in one session, or two 1-hour sessions. Since I travel often, I would choose the former.
Pr incipal need: improve conversation !! Also, review grammar, improve vocabulary and reading comprehension . A bit of everything. Can meet in office (Boca Raton), at my home (Ft.Lauderdal e) or teacher's home.
Qual ities in a teacher: Dynamic, with creative formula to teach language.

Three years of German in high school. Finished third-year German in college in 1991. My proficiency is intermediate. I want to learn better German mainly because my cousin and her family live in Stuttgart and I visit her often. Also, I may want to use German in the future for possible business opportunities that require German and English.
Ide ally, I'm looking for a tutor that could meet once a week or once every two weeks for an hour to converse in German and help me in my vocabulary, pronunciation s and common terminology that would be used if I were in normal conversation with a German. (ie.) at the market, train station, small talk, talk between acquaintances and friends, talking about my life, asking questions, etc.
I would want the time to be mostly spoken in German. I normally know enough German to ask about particular words or phrases that I don't understand.
I work Monday thru Friday. I would be able to meet at 6pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Saturdays are open. I would also be willing to schedule a time on any weeknight (except Wednesdays) after 9pm (finishing no later then 11:30pm).
