I'm learning Spanish because it's a goal of mine to become fluent. Living in San Diego and being a teacher I want to be able to communicate effectively with some of my students' parents.
I 'm between a B1 & B2. I've studies off and on for several years and believe once I start studying consistently I'll make good progress.
I would like to improve my conversation skills and advance my listening understanding .
Now that I'm on break I can dedicate at least an hour or more a day for the next 8 weeks. Once school starts I'll have at least 20-30 minutes a day to study.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher someone who will encourage me
and teach me strategies to remember what I've learned.

I want to learn Spanish to advance my career. I consider myself a beginner even though I grew up in a Spanish/ English speaking household and studied Spanish in college. I need particular help with grammar and conversation, and I would like to dedicate 1-3 days a week to language lessons.

I had spent a few months in Spain and felt that I could pursue to have a second language in Spanish in the future, loved the language, I also plan to do a trip to South America (which I know is not the same Spanish) but to have the experience and knowledge to speak Spanish properly when travelling would help tremendously
I would like to do classes where I can practice speaking fluently and proper conversations as teaching myself through book work has been hard to translate to speaking properly
I would love to do 2 classes a week if possible

I obtained a minor in Spanish in college but that was several years ago. I would say I can have a conversation at an intermediate level. I’d like to get better and more comfortable speaking so that I can be of more assistance at my job. I interview underserved children and their parents and sometimes they are Spanish speaking. I’m particularly interested in having mock conversations about the topics I discuss in the interviews, which aren’t always happy topics. We discuss interests, childhood, and school, which is fairly easy, but we also discuss trauma, abuse, absent parents, and mental health. Those topics aren’t typically taught in a classroom and don’t come up in casual conversation. Any assistance with how to learn to discuss those difficult topics would be most excellent!
