I speak a little more Russian than a beginner. I've gone through Russian I of the Pimsleur language course and 1/2 of lesson II. We adopted our son from Russia (Tver) two years ago when he was 7 months old, which is why I started trying to learn Russian initially. I am a podiatrist and have a group of patients who come to me because they heard I speak a little Russian, but I don't speak enough to speak to them without the aid of a translator.
I'd like a tutor/teacher who could come to my office perhaps one hour per week. My goals are to achieve an intermediate level of speaking and understanding Russian, and to learn some phrases that will aid in my practice.

I am a junior at the University of Texas at Dallas and I am enrolled in their beginning French course. I have taken 1.5 years of French in high school, but beings that my grades were not outstanding and that I have not studied for 7 years I am starting at the beginning.
My goals extend to more that just getting a good grade in a class. I truly desire to learn the French language. I hope to become proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I also hope to become better acquainted with customs and cultural differences. I of course do hope that additional help reflects in my school grades as well.
From prior experience, I know that I have difficulty in spelling. Learning the vocabulary and correct pronunciation s comes a bit easier for me but spelling has always been my primary difficulty. When it comes to grammatical issues, if I can have someone explain to me why a certain rule is the way it is that helps me in using and retaining such information.
Since I am a full-times student at a university, the time I am able to spend on lessons varies. I am guaranteed at least 2.5 hours a week in my formal classes. I also try to spend at the very least 30 mins- 1.5 hours a day studying. I am also trying to watch at least one video a week in French, read 1 or 2 children’s stories, and participate in interactive online activities when ever possible. I do have a friend who quizzes me on spelling for an hour once a week but I would like to add one or two tutoring sessions to this, with someone who is more skilled in the language.
I need a tutor who is patient and able to explain concepts well. In addition, since I do intended to be working on this for more than one semester, I need an individual who is flexible and can work with my schedule as it changes from semester to semester. I prefer an individual who is either a native of a French speaking region or who has spent significant time in an area where French is the primary language. This is obviously not necessarily a requirement but it is always helpful in my opinion to have spent a noteworthy amount of time immersed in a language.
