I lived in Cairo for a little over 4 years and have basic conversation level (ie can get around in a taxi, buy groceries, chat using basic phrases etc). I get very nervous when face to face speaking but understand more than I can speak. I would like to know more so I can communicate easier when I visit friends there. I also know a little of the alphabet but not how to read and write other than my name and a few basic words since the written is often different word than the spoken. I could only take class in the evening after 6 and no more than a couple nights a week at most. I need a teacher who is very gentle and patient since I am already nervous...
Also my daughter does some translation for co-workers and would be interested in expanding her vocabulary for the workplace as well as learn to read and write (same level in this as me). Thank you for your response!
