Hello i am a beginner of mandarin chinese. I have taken about 2 months of college chinese 101. I am retaking this class this semester and i am in need of a refresher course. I need improvement on symbol writting and understanding . I am looking to put as much time as needed. For the qualities of my teacher i am looking for patience, understanding , and he/she needs to be knowledgeable .

My background is Ukrainian and Polish. Both of my parents were born in Europe and came to the United States in the 50s. Aside from hearing Ukrainian from my mother and grandparents, I received no formal instruction in the language. My proficiency is at the beginnner level. My grandmother only speaks Ukrainian at this time, and I am looking for formal language instruction to be able to communicate with her. I also teach preschool in Chicago and feel that a second language would be beneficial to me as an educator. It has been difficult for me to find a beginning Ukrainian class for English speakers. I am interested in either small class or individual instruction.

Beginner, know basics but still have alot to learn.
I'm learning the language out of interest of the culture, and a possible trip to Japan.
I need improvement in almost everything, but alot in hiragana and vocab.
I already dedicate 3 or 4 hours a day to Japanese, I love to study it and am willing to go on as long as a teacher is willing to teach.
