I am an intermediate level student of Spanish. My husband and I enjoy visiting Mexico annually for a month or two to improve our use of Spanish. I need help listening and understanding Spanish so I can improve my conversationa l skills. I can continue to learn grammar from books and by conversationa l examples. But, I need to hear Spanish spoken well by a literate Spanish speaker. I would like to meet face-to-face for about 2 hours a week in a public location such as a library, bookstore cafe or similar venue. A North American, Central American or South American educated speaker of Spanish is desired. A sense of humor and interest in a broad range of topics would be helpful.

I was born in the states, but my parents are vietnamese. I did not grow up in a vietnamese community so I have a hard time communicating with friends and family in vietnamese. I have grown up hearing Farsi my entire life, but my father never taught it to me. I only speak English right now, but I would really love to eventually be fluent in Farsi since it is what a lot of my family speaks. I need a teacher who can speak decent English and will be patient with me as I learn a new language. I would like to learn how to speak it, write it, and understand grammar as much as possible. I am only available in the evenings, but I am willing to put a good amount of time and effort into this.
