We are a married couple that is looking for a tutor for once or twice a week to teach us the basics in Vietnamese. At this point we only know a few words. We would really like to focus on pronunciation rather than vocabulary (although I guess they go hand-in-hand) . We are already fluent in a second language, so really know what is involved in building vocabulary, etc. However, since this is the first time we will have experience in learning a tonal language, we want to be sure to learn the accents well.

I am a beginner learner in Italian.
I am going to Italy for 2 weeks in May 2009
and would like to be able to converse at a minimal level.
I can dedicate 2 hours a day, 2 days (Mondays or Tuesdays and then again on Thursdays or Fridays) a week for 10 weeks
and am looking for a little bit of flexibility since I work full time.
My lesson should consist of rules/regulat ions
followed by application and then pronunciation or verbal skills. I would like to learn conversationa l Italian first
but would like to build up vocabularies beyond street-level speaking.

I have very basic knowledge of the Japanese language, meaning that I have a few words and phrases memorized. i have always had an interest in Japanese culture and I plan to travel to Japan soon so I wish to have a grip on the language before I go. I will put as much time and effort into this as necessary or however much my instructor is willing to give. I am looking for good lessons with a nice instructor who makes it a fun experience.
