I am a beginner portuguese student, who attends Howard University. I decided to take Portuguese because I didn't want to follow the crowd and take Spanish. I know that this will not be an easy class and am prepared to dedicate many hours on this subject. The teacher at Howard University for Portuguese is often absent and I feel as though I need the extra help to push me into the right direction. I am not just looking for an A in this class, I want to become fluent. I know I'm having problems with conjugation, grammer, as well as other topics. I am looking for a teacher who is VERY patient, and understanding .

my proficiecy is beginner. i am learning because i am very interested in chinese culture and i plan to travel if not live there. im a beginner so i need tudoring on everything.id practice at home probably 30 minutes a day but id love to take an hour lesson ever week. im loking for a patient teacher and someone who is willing to teach a very intellegent 13 year old.

I am a beginner. I have studied French when I was at the U of MN, but speaking it I am quite shy and uncomfortable .
We had a Portuguese foreign exchange student in 2001-2002 and we have traveled to Portugal several times and plan to continue going there. It is important to our relationship with Maria and her family to at least try to speak their language.
I would like to learn conversationa l Portuguese and be able to read it somewhat.
I would like to meet once a week or perhaps every other week. My husband would like to learn too, but he travels and his schedule is unpredictable .
I would like an instructor that is patient and willing to start slow until my confidence builds with the language

My proficiency level of Spanish is intermediate. I studied it in the university during 3 years, but after that I didn't use it for about 2 years.
